Luigi Tollis

Before joining Fixler & LaGattuta in 2015, Mr. Tollis worked as insurance coverage claim counsel to various multi-national insurance carriers, litigated various declaratory judgment actions involving a wide range of coverage disputes and defended numerous individuals and entities in personal injury, property damage and construction/Labor Law actions.  He has experience handling these matters from inception to trial and on appeal throughout the State of New York.

In addition to construction site matters, Mr. Tollis has handled a wide range of legal matters in insurance defense litigation and general practice matters inclusive of the defense of cases involving claims for premises liability, contractual indemnification and contribution, asbestos exposure/toxic tort, and commercial transportation matters representing inter and intrastate trucking companies, owner-operators, cargo carriers, and carting companies.

Mr. Tollis also has extensive experience representing multi-national insurance carriers in coverage matters, and has litigated various declaratory judgment actions involving a wide range of coverage disputes and defended numerous individuals and entities in personal injury and property damage actions. He has also represented clients in numerous complex commercial litigation matters.

Mr. Tollis also advises international private equity clients on regulatory compliance and pre-transaction due diligence. He has also successfully advised insurance carriers in matters involving conspiratorial enterprise mortgage fraud schemes, fidelity bond coverage and subrogation issues arising out of the Bernard Madoff Ponzi scheme, fidelity bond coverage issues in conspiratorial decades-long invoice fraud and racketeering among employees at a Fortune 50 company, general fidelity and banker’s blanket bond coverage issues, as well as insurance carrier defense in general property and casualty coverage disputes.

Mr. Tollis was invited, along with international scholars and industry leaders, to the Boston Antitrust Marathon at the British Consulate in Boston, MA in April 2009. He is also the recipient of the 2006 Connecticut Bar Association Award in Law and Citizenship Education.
